A Really Fun Weekend

Saturday was Ray's 30th anniversary working for the Holdings - his girls were so proud of their daddy for making this milestone; so they gave him this beautiful and delicious fruit bouquet. I know that this thoughtful gift meant so much to Ray because his daughters recognized him and were grateful for his hard work over the years. Thanks girls for being so awesome and remembering your dad!

Friday night Ray arranged for the two of us to stay overnight at Grand America - we were treated to a fabulous dinner in the Garden Cafe. We had a wonderful restful evening and really enjoyed being pampered. We exercised at the great facility there at the Grand on Saturday morning and then we went to a wonderful brunch at Little America. Ray gave me a collector's edition Swarofski Crystal ornament - it is the first year they are making a collector's edition and it is gold instead of just clear crystal. It is beautiful - I felt so spoiled. Saturday night we went to the U of U Basketball game - it was a great game even though they lost by 3 in overtime. Sunday afternoon we were again treated to brunch but this time at Grand America. We truly were spoiled and very full!!! We spent a little time with MaKayla, Melody, Miranda, Tommy, and Maddalyn so we could give them their Valentines. We are going to go and see Brenden, Bridger and Bracken tomorrow to get them their Valentines. We sure love our grandkids!!!

Monday we decided to take the snowmobile to Strawberry resevoir to do some ice fishing. We had a wonderful time. It was overcast most of the day and we did get a little snow but we really enjoyed ourselves - we loved the quiet, the beauty of nature, and the chance to catch a lot of really BIG fish!! Here are some pictures of our fun ice fishing trip!

I caught the first fish of the day but we didn't even have the camera out yet. This is one of two rainbow trout that I caught - the rest of the 15 fish we caught were cutthroats. We put them all back in the drink except for 3 - one of those we had for dinner...YUMMMY!

Can you see the snowmobile in the background? It was so nice to hook up our big sled and put everything in it and tow it out on the ice. The ice was at least 14 inches thick - Ray earned all of the fish he caught after drilling all of our holes!

This was a pretty good fish. I get so excited everytime I catch a fish - I LOVE fishing - especially with Ray - we always have such a good time.

This is the biggest fish - guess who caught it! It was hard to pull that fish through that 8 inch hole in the ice - but what a great feeling when I landed it!

What a wonderful weekend! So much fun - I'm having a hard time thinking about going back to work tomorrow. Gratefully it is a short week! Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day and President's Day weekend.
