Change - things constantly are changing but it is one of the most difficult things to accept. This week we watched as our neighbors across the street packed up and moved to a new home. I'm sure that tomorrow the new neighbors will be moving in. It is a little scary watching such a big change in your neighborhood. Ray and I have lived in our home for over 20 years and we have watched a lot of people come and go. We have been blessed to have some really wonderful neighbors and we have also been blessed to learn some tough lessons from neighbors who have been a little more difficult to get along with. At one time the girls used to joke that we were living in the "Burbs" from the movie of the same name. We had the police called to our neighborhood at least once a week and we would sit on the front lawn and watch the drama unfold. We had a few neighbors who could never get along. Most of those families have left our neighborhood and we had finally gotten neighbors who all seemed to get along. It was a great experience.
We are going to miss the Underwoods even though they only moved a few blocks away. Their youngest son is Makayla's age and they have been best friends for most of their lives. In fact they both told us that they were going to get married when they grow up. I know that MaKayla will miss having her friend so close by.
I guess this is a new chapter in the neighborhood book - we will be waiting and watching to welcome our new neighbors. It would be nice to know a little bit more about them.
