Elk Hunting with Brenden November 2011

This was the first day of the hunt - Ray took us on a long hike looking for Elk - Brenden was a trooper and didn't complain once - he also kept up better than I did. LOL!

Ray and Brenden at a cemetary outside a trading post that used to serve Butch Cassidy and his gang.

Sitting outside the Ice House.

Pretty rustic camping...huh??? LOL!

This is a handsome boy!!!  We had so much fun and Brenden was such a great companion!

We took the .22 for Brenden to shoot - he did a really good job and hit the target a couple of times.  The best part was that he learned to handle the gun properly and he remembered how to be safe.  GOOD JOB!

 Here's two handsome hunters!

This was the third day and we had some good snow overnight.  Not much moving so we decided to do some target shooting by Flaming Gorge.  This was checking the target after the first round.

We were sure glad we had the Jeep for these snowy roads.

Oliver was happy to be in the Jeep too!!

Notice the chains on the tires - we had a pretty slick experience on the mountain and it was so good to have Ray with us - he always knows what to do and is always prepared.

After falling down on the slick ice and getting the chains on - once we got off the mountain the chains had to come off.  Ray is a trooper - If you want to be with someone who is prepared make sure Ray is with your group!

We are getting ready to pack-up.  We saw a huge herd of Bull Elk on the last day - of course our tags were for cows (go figure).  We also saw one of the biggest buck deer I have every seen it was a 5x6 AMAZING.  There were lots of does and we even saw a coyote.  We put together puzzles, watched movies, ate lots of good food, drank hot chocolate, drove to some fun places in the Jeep and just had a really good time!  Thanks Brenden and Ray for making this trip so much fun!
