I gave Ray this sweet Ice Tent for Christmas so we had to take a couple trips to the lake to try it out.  This is at Rockport where they are having a fishing contest.  If you catch a fish with a tag you could win $2,500.   Of course we didn't catch any tagged fish.  LOL!  Because of the weird weather we didn't have any snow so it was interesting to pull our sled down to the ice with all of our stuff in it.  We did have a little wind and when the temperature is chilly the wind really makes it cold.  Gratefully our little shelter kept the wind away and we had a toasty fun day on the ice.

Here is our sweet set-up.  Ray took his gift cards that he received for Cabela's and bought a gas auger.  We had so many holes in the ice - you had to watch where you walked.  LOL!

We had all the comforts of home - a good chair to sit in, a cooler full of food and drinks, and a roof over our heads.

Drilling one of those many, many holes in the ice.

We had holes inside the tent and then Ray drilled a few more outside...just in case.

Ray was sleeping and I tried to get the picture of him while he was asleep but the movement of the camera woke him up.

Look - I even took my hat off!

Checking some of the outside holes with fish finder.

I have to take a self-portrait!  LOL!

The ice was so clear under our feet we even saw some fish swimming by.

Trying to decide which hole will have the most fish.

We had a wonderful day and loved the new shelter and ice auger.  We caught 4 fish - which was actually a lot if you consider that most of the people around didn't catch any.  It was relaxing, quiet, and so much fun!
